First let’s set the record straight. This is not about a new 2010 MGB that the rumor mills suggest will be built by a Chinese company. Two Events to Ring in an Early Spring!
by Ted Grocki

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The old saw states, “If you don’t like the weather in New England, wait a minute, it’ll change.” We can certainly attest to that this season. Just recently we awoke to snow in the a.m. and finished the day with temperatures in the 50s an  [more...]

BMCNE news & events
by Ted Grocki

It seems that each month the deadline for articles come sooner that I ever expected. I must apologize for missing the October deadline for the Marque article. As always, with the start of the fall season our thoughts turn to putting up the LBCs for the winter. Mother Nature tossed us a curve ball this season with plenty of mild weather. So many of us kept our cars on the road.

On October 21st, Marge and Lou Guillet led anoth  [more...]

As summer came to a close, the sun was setting early and Cruise Nights were coming to an end — and September 10th brought about the conclusion of a strange request.

In March I received an e-mail from the organizer of the closing event for a joint convention of two international societies that was being held at the Convention Center in Providence. The event was a tour of Blithewold, a turn-ofthe- century estate in Bristol, R  [more...]

It wasn’t a pot luck supper
by Wanda & Gaston Pheedya

NORTH SCITUATE, RI — On Friday, August 24th, BMCNE held its annual pot luck dinner on a beach-like setting at the old mainstay in Scituate. It was a perfect warm summer evening with a cool refreshing breeze and no pesky insects to aggravate the partygoers.

And the food, oh, the food. The gods were kind to us that evening and the chefs really outdid themselves this year. It was a gastronomic, epicurean deli  [more...]

[BMCNE Picnic.jpg] The ‘27 Flavors’ cruise
by Bill Bzdula

The Mousseau Bugeye gets inspected for Fuel trouble.

NORTH SCITUATE, RI — We gathered at the Gazebo at 11:30 on Sunday, August 19th, for what was initially described by organizers Marge and Lou Guillet as “a short cruise, a picnic and a scenic drive for ice cream.” That description really did an injustice to the events of the day that followed.

Oddly enough, and not in true British fashion, 12 English  [more...]

British Motorcar summer is here!
by Ted Grocki

June and July have been busy months for BMCNE, not only with the usual Friday night gathering at the Gazebo, but some special events.

On June 22nd, as part of the Cruise Night activities, Lucien Forget pulled out the grill and we had the annual BBQ. It was great to have so many members gather for food and fun. Thanks go out to Lucien for all his efforts putting on this event.

July always starts off with a ba  [more...]

A mystery ride, and more!
by Ted Grocki

NORTH SCITUATE, RI — On Sunday, June 10th, thirteen cars gathered at the Gazebo for a mystery ride to an ice cream stand, led by Lance (Beau) Beauchamp. The drive was about an hour and a half to the destination — and as is the case when LBCs are involved there were some troubles. Jorgen Mortensen’s TVR Tuscan was exhibiting problems with the electrical system. Steve Barao swapped the battery from his TVR with Jorgen and the duo proceede  [more...]

Good stuff on offer at the annual Flea Market at Donada. Right: Even cars! Photos by Chris Izzo

Woonsocket, RI — April 14th was chilly and windy, but it was a chance to get out and talk about our LBCs at the annual Flea Market. We gathered at the Donada Warehouse in Woonsocket, and it was great to see so many folks turn out with their parts to sell. Some folks were probably making room in the garage for the next project car.  [more...]

Chris Izzo gets attentive help while working on the brakes of his MGB. It was a chance for us to get together, work on a car, offer advice, and generally have some good fun.

On March 10th another tech session was held at Chris Izzo’s garage. The tech session revolved around doing brake work on Chris’ MGB.
